Introduction and Design
The Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime is a cut-down variant of the J7 Prime that was launched earlier. The device bears a mid-range price tag and sports an unibody aluminum design. Also, users get a fingerprint scanner which is embedded in the home button which allows users to unlock the device without taking the hassle of entering a password.
Display and Performance
The smartphone boasts a 5-inch HD display as opposed to the 5-inch Full HD screen on the J7 Prime. However, the screen is paired with good viewing angles that offer decent legibility even under bright light. The screen offers fair legibility even when it is placed in sunlight. Also, to keep the device protected from attracting any scratches, there is a coating of Corning’s Gorilla Glass.
At its heart, the smartphone is armed with a quad-core Exynos chipset which offers smooth and lag-free smartphone experience. The SoC is paired with 2GB of RAM to support multitasking.
Storage and Platform
The Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime is equipped with 16GB of internal storage space that can be used for installing apps. One can also boost the storage up to 256GB via a microSD card to make space for music, videos, images, data, etc.
On the software front, the device runs the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system out of the box.
Camera and Connectivity
To help you capture images and record videos, the device comes with an 8-megapixel primary camera which also has an LED flash to aid in dark environments. For selfies and video calling, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera on board too.
One can enjoy all the regular connectivity options on the Galaxy J5 Prime. The options include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and a microUSB 2.0 port.
Battery
The Galaxy J5 Prime is fuelled by a Li-Ion 2,400 mAh battery that supports talk time up to 8 hours and can keep the device functioning throughout the day for any beginner. In addition, the battery has support for fast charging.
